I was in Germantown to have some business discussions with a former partner. We dissolved our business amicably a few years ago, because it made more sense for us to go off on our own. However we have stayed in touch and the two of us collaborate on projects when it is sensible and profitable. He was getting ready for one of his club meetings and offered me a cup of Kopi Luwak coffee. I had not ever heard of the stuff, but he showed me the site where they had gotten it, http://www.kopiluwakguru.com. I almost choked looking at the price and he laughed at me. Of course they did not buy the entire kilo for 700 dollars and not even the half kilo for 350 dollars. Instead they had paid 70 dollars for 100 grams, which is a bit less than a quarter of a pound. A pound of coffee is 453 grams I think, so it is two ninths of a pound more or less.
That’s still 70 dollars for something like a hundred and twenty small cups of coffee by my rough estimate. It would be a big deal for most people if they were paying for it all by themselves, but this is a club. Some times they might get together and buy some outrageously expensive bottle of wine, but mostly they have nice meals. If you have twenty people who have plenty of money (or relatively speaking at least) they can easily hire a good chef and perhaps contribute a hundred dollars each to some really nice meal. The coffee is going to cost each of them around five bucks I guess and then you can tell all your friends that you had the stuff and whether or not it was any good at all.

My brother had the idea of creating a greeting card company and now he wants me to help him. I’m not sure why he wants my help. My brother has always been the one in the family with the most business sense, so anything I could offer him would be minimal at best. He didn’t see it the same way that I did, and said that I could be a great asset in helping him get an office for the company. All I have to do is use my skills of persuasion to get a good office rental deal.
I’m not sure where he got the idea that I have any persuasive skills, but I agreed to help him anyway. Read the rest of this entry »

I like to torrent a lot of stuff. In fact, a good amount of my bandwidth gets used up by all the torrenting that I do. The best torrent site that I’ve found so far has been http://isohuntpro.org. It has lots of different content on it. It has music, movies, software, apps, etc. You name it, it’s most likely listed on the site. One of my main torrents is typically music. You can usually find whole discographies on there which makes downloading music pretty amazing. You don’t have to fuss over trying to find particular albums or songs. You can simply download the whole artist’s discography! A discography is usually everything an artist has done to date. I can’t tell you how many new songs and material I’ve discovered by downloading discographies.

There are many diet pills out there, and all of them claim to do the same exact thing, well today that has changed. No longer are the diet pills claiming to just melt the fat away, no today they have become honest with all of us. They are no longer claiming that this pill can just make you magically lose up to twenty pounds, it has changed to mean something much more. It is now said that these can be used to help aid in weight loss when used with diet and exercise. adrenalast is one of the best examples of this, they have for years stopped this negative stigma on diet pills, they have always said that they are only there to help and have actually often times chastised the other companies for putting blatant lies into their promotions.

When choosing a new place to live here in Singapore, our eyes were constantly dazzled with all of the drawings, floor plans and other things promised in the building projects going up around the island. Then we started to look into the actual development firms building the various condos we were choosing from. My wife and I liked what we saw happening at the riverbank @ fernvale.
The UOL Group Limited is the developer behind this condominium project. They have an award winning history. Literally! They have won awards such as the Aga Khan Award for Architecture and the FIABCI Prix d’Excellence Award. The condos being built are just that. They are in the process of being built. And those of us who want to live in one must get our applications in early to get what we want. I don’t know about you, but if I am going to commit to a new home before it is finished, I am going to make sure it is being built by an award winning developer in Singapore.

When we first moved our company into a new location, everyone was happy because it was so much bigger. We had more office space, bigger meeting rooms, and several more restrooms too. I think what most of the employees liked best though is the break room. The old office had a coffee pot in the corner of the main office, but here we have a large break room that has plenty of counter space as well as a fridge and microwaves. I decided to order some promotional mugs to keep in the break room since I knew I was not the only one who enjoyed sipping coffee throughout the day.
